About Idgie

Anthropomorphism.

At what point does your dog become your best friend? Is it when you and her can walk in tandem, and when she knows when it’s ok when to pull ahead, and when to hold back and trust your commands?  Is it when she’ll come over when called, and not because she thinks you have a treat?  Is it when you have decided that you hate everyone because it’s 1am, you’re working, you’re irritable, you’ve been irritable all week and last week, and it’s frustrating that people around you constantly come up short? Is it when she looks at you when she doesn’t stop chewing on your shoelace even though you tell her to “leave it,” as if to say, Hey it’s your problem – you’re the one with high expectations.?  Or is it when, when everyone else is asleep, drunk, high, or moping in their corners, she’s there to put her head on your lap in comfort, even if she ends up deciding that the floor is so much more comfortable?  And then you think, hm, maybe I can strike a deal with the guys at Furtographs for a photo shoot …….. now, that is going too far.
